Our Mission:

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

We are family owned. We are not part of a large corporation or company with a home office in another state. This allows us the flexibility to do what is best for our residents and their families, not just what is best for the company. The homey atmosphere has always been our trademark from the time one enters Harbor Terrace.

Most all of our staff has been here for over 20 years and members of the management team have been here since we opened 30 years ago. We are a dedicated, hard-working, loving group whose complete focus is giving the best care and attention possible to our residents.

Our residents are involved with life here. We have a Resident’s Council and many of the decisions regarding our meals, services and programs are inspired by them. The residents’ mail is distributed by our resident, Doris P. The raised flower beds in our garden and our courtyard patio are taken care of by our Garden Club, comprised of residents at Harbor Terrace.

Our birds each have a “Mommy” here (a resident) who takes care of the feeding and upkeep of the cages. All of our new residents receive a resident host or hostess to make the transition of living at Harbor Terrace that much easier.

We tailor all of our assisted living services to the individual. Due to a high staff to resident ratio along with seasoned and well-trained employees, we can give excellent care with frequent checks. We are constantly reevaluating the health and well-being of each resident and updating services to meet their personal needs. Harbor Terrace is an award winning retirement community. We have consistently won for Best Retirement and Best Assisted Living in the South Bay year after year! Our management team has been here since we opened our doors in 1990. We provide a one of a kind recreational and social program based on 40 years of experience in this field. If an independent resident moves in, but they eventually require assisted living services, they can remain in their same apartment. They do not need to move to another hall, floor or building. We bring our care and service to them. Plus they are only charged for the specific services they require rather than a “package deal” or “points.” Plenty of free underground, gated parking is provided at no additional cost. No hidden fees.
